Built on the Freightliner XC-R chassis and powered by an 8.9L Cummins 450 HP diesel engine, the Tuscany 42GX is designed for comfortable long-distance travel while providing the residential amenities expected from Thor's Tuscany line.
The cockpit is equipped for extended travel with tilt-and-telescoping steering, adjustable power pedals, cruise control, GPS navigation, three-camera monitoring, secondary engine braking, keyless entry, and power door locks. Both captain's chairs were professionally recovered in July 2026. The windshield is equipped with power shades.
Exterior driving features include LED headlights and running lights, docking lights, air horns, and aluminum wheels.
For campground and off-grid use, the Tuscany features an Onan 10.0kW diesel generator with approximately 1,488 hours, a 50-amp electrical system with a power cord reel, an inverter, an Aqua-Hot system, and three ducted air conditioners with heat pumps. The coach has also been upgraded with LiFePO4 house batteries providing approximately 52% more capacity than the original battery setup.

The Cummins diesel engine recently had its oil and filter changed. The Onan 10.0kW diesel generator has approximately 1,488 hours and has also received an oil and filter change along with a full generator service.
The coach is equipped with new Toyo M144 295/80R22.5 tires. SnapRing tire covers have been added to protect the tires when the motorhome is parked, and a TireMinder A1AS monitoring system provides tire pressure monitoring for both the motorhome and a towed vehicle.
The driver's captain's chair was newly recovered in July 2026. Other updates include StoneVos slide toppers, LED headlights, SnapPads on the leveling jacks, a LiFePO4 house battery upgrade, and front and rear RedTiger dash cameras.
The coach is currently equipped with a Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain tow bar and Demco Air Force One supplemental braking system for towing a compatible vehicle.
