Description
2006 SPORTSMOBILE 22 4X4 Custom Van Conversion. E350 6.0L Super Duty Diesel. BULLET PROOFED!
Built for long-range adventure and off-grid living, this 2006 Sportsmobile E350 4x4 is a rare, fully outfitted overland rig that blends serious capability with thoughtful comfort. Whether you're chasing remote trailheads or setting up camp miles from pavement, this van is ready to go.
The Sportsmobile 4x4 system, with an Atlas II transfer case and lift, transforms this van into a true off-road machine. It's equipped with a Buckstop Baja front bumper (designed for optimal airflow), a Warn 16.5 Ti winch, and a 5" performance exhaust. Out back, an Aluminess rear bumper with spare tire mount, storage box, and bike rack adds utility without compromise. Recovery gear is neatly stored in a custom aluminum rear floor compartment.
Under the hood is the 6.0L Power Stroke diesel, professionally "bullet proofed" at 191,220 miles, with all the right upgrades (head studs, gaskets, oil and EGR coolers, FICM, and water pump) giving peace of mind for the long haul. The odometer reads 272,520 miles, with just 81,300 miles since the overhaul. The turbo was rebuilt in 2015.
The van consistently delivers around 15 MPG on the highway. Paired with a 40-gallon fuel tank, you're looking at up to 600 miles of range between fill-ups.
Lighting and visibility are dialed in with LED headlamps, a full Rigid light bar, and independently switched side and rear LEDs. Hood louvers improve engine bay airflow, and pop-out rear door windows enhance ventilation.
The exterior setup continues with a Front Runner Slimline II roof rack carrying 3 100W (300W total) solar panels, an Aluminess side ladder, Bushwacker fender flares, and aggressive 315/75R16 Nitto Terra Grapplers (about 30% tread remaining). A Fiamma F45S awning extends your living space outdoors.
Inside, the van has been thoughtfully rebuilt in 2022/2023 to maximize comfort and functionality. You'll find laminate vinyl flooring, custom cabinetry, a pullout table, and a smart layout featuring a pullout refrigerator and a porta-potty toilet on heavy-duty slides. There's a water system with a tank, a pump, a heater, a sink, and an exterior shower wand. Cooking is handled by a two-burner butane stove.
Power comes from dual Optima Blue Top AGM house batteries (new in 2023), supported by an Xantrex Freedom inverter/charger with shore power hookup and 110V and 12V outlets. A Dometic dual-zone fridge/freezer is included.
The Colorado Camper Van penthouse pop-top transforms the interior space--offering a child-sized bunk up front and a full RV queen sleeping area when deployed. Down below, a removable sleeping platform (not pictured) adds even more flexibility. Insulation, blackout curtains, and custom window coverings make this a true all-season rig.
This is not just a van -- it's a fully realized overland platform, dialed in through years of thoughtful upgrades and ready for the next owner to take it even further.
While we will always attempt to provide you with a TRUE representation of every RV we market, during any purchase from Pop you will be encouraged to schedule an inspection from an independent, accredited inspector and every purchase WILL ALWAYS BE subject to your satisfaction with the results from your independent inspection and your own personal test drive.
Condition:
Overall, this 4x4 machine appears to be in very good condition. The owner reports that everything is in good working order. Service records are available for review.
The tires are good, but nearing the end of their life. There is a good, solid spare on the rear. The body appears to be in good condition with only minor paint blemishes (chips) and no visible damage.
The undercarriage looks to be as rust-free as you could hope to find for a vehicle of this age.
