Low-hour Cobia 280 DC with twin Yamaha 250s, Helm Master joystick, Garmin electronics and a versatile fishing and family-cruising layout!
This 2023 Cobia 280 DC combines offshore capability with the comfort and flexibility that make a dual console an excellent platform for fishing, cruising, watersports, and family days on the water.
Power comes from twin Yamaha 250 four-stroke outboards showing approximately 116 hours.
At the helm, the boat is equipped with a Garmin GPSMAP 1243xsv multifunction display integrated with Yamaha Helm Master EX, giving the operator much more than conventional joystick docking control. The system combines joystick maneuverability with integrated autopilot functions including Heading Hold and Course Hold, along with GPS-based positioning and route-following capabilities. Helm Master EX can maintain a selected heading, compensate for wind and current to hold a course, follow programmed waypoints, and use Yamaha's SetPoint functions to maintain or control the boat's position and heading. Electronic throttle and shift controls, Yamaha digital engine instrumentation, Bennett trim tabs, Garmin VHF, and an electric windlass round out the well-equipped helm.
The Garmin electronics package includes a large multifunction display along with Garmin VHF. An electric windlass handles anchoring duties, and the fiberglass hardtop and full windshield provide excellent protection around the helm and cockpit.
Cobia designed the 280 DC to transition easily between fishing and entertaining. The spacious bow provides wraparound seating and a convertible sun-lounge arrangement. The port-side lounge offers multiple seating configurations, while retractable aft seating can be deployed for passengers or stowed to create additional cockpit room.
Fishing amenities include a livewell, insulated fish boxes, rod storage and holders, a self-bailing cockpit, raw-water washdown, and plenty of working space. With a 21-degree transom deadrise and 172-gallon fuel capacity, the 280 DC is also equipped for offshore trips.
Family amenities are equally impressive. A roomy private head compartment includes an electric head with macerator, freshwater sink, mirror, and storage.
