Description
Beautiful, classic Sportsman! Meticulously maintained! Ready to hit the water and turn heads!
1954 Chris-Craft Sportsman 17' with a K-95HP engine. The engine was rebuilt in 2017 with new valves, valve guides, and springs, a reground crankshaft, new oversized bearings, honed cylinder walls, and new piston rings.
In 2017, the 3M 5200 bottom was added, and the boat was also re-varnished in 2017
Additional restoration and maintenance completed in 2023 included removing the boat name and revarnishing the transom, sanding and repainting the bottom and waterline stripe, sanding and varnishing the cover slats from the top deck to the transom, sanding, epoxying, and repainting the steering wheel, replacing the starboard trailer runner, recaulking the strut, adding four cleats, and replacing the cast-iron exhaust elbow with a bronze unit. A new battery was installed in 2024.
A 1954 Chris-Craft boat uses a 6-volt, standard rotation generator manufactured to match the Chris-Craft Hercules-based engines, such as the Model K (95 hp).
The boat comes with a canvas cover, spotlight, convertible bimini top, side curtains, and a 2010 single-axle trailer. This is a well-maintained classic Chris-Craft that has benefited from significant mechanical and cosmetic restoration while retaining its original character.
While we will always attempt to provide you with a TRUE representation of every vessel we market, during any purchase from Pop you will be encouraged to schedule an inspection from an independent, accredited surveyor and every purchase WILL ALWAYS BE subject to your satisfaction with the results from your independent survey and your own personal trial run.
Condition:
The boat has been stored under cover. Last used in the water in May 2026. The only gauge working is the tachometer
The windshield is two-piece glass.
The structure was inspected in March 2026 (was said to be in good condition), and all accessible plank seams and loose screw holes were caulked and sealed; repainted with hard-bottom copper racing paint.
The battery was replaced in 2025.
A spare prop is included.
The cast-iron exhaust elbow was replaced with a brass one.
Overall, great condition!
